Before Club Penguin there were 4 games: Experimental Penguins, Penguin Chat, Penguin Chat 2, and Penguin Chat 3. All of them except Club Penguin were invented by RocketSnail, also known as rsnail in Club Penguin (his real name is Lance Priebe). Let’s start with Experimental Penguins, because it was invented first.
Experimental Penguins
Experimental Penguins just had blue penguins in it. The igloos were round, and the Penguin Band played in it.
In Experimental Penguins there was a game called Ballastic Biscuit, but with humans. Here is a picture of it. Notice: there is a penguin in the boat and there’s someone fishing. Click here to play it.
There was also a game called Mancala Snails. It’s a type of mancala but with snails. Click here to play it.
Penguin Chat
After Experimental Penguins came Penguin Chat. The site http://www.penguinchat.com/ is NOT the real Penguin Chat. It is just a copy of it. It is a bit the same, but it’s not real.
In Penguin Chat there wasn’t really much to do: you just walked and talked, and you didn’t even need a username: you just typed it and entered the game. Here is a picture of Penguin Chat:
Penguin Chat 2
Penguin Chat 2 is probably the least famous of all Penguin Chats. I just found one picture for it. It was released in January 2003 and shut down in April 2004 for Penguin Chat 3.
Penguin Chat 3
Penguin Chat 3 is very famous. Most old Club Penguin penguins know about it. In it there were 7 rooms including your igloo.
Ninja
You could be ninja in Penguin Chat 3. When you are going to choose the color of your penguin click the “N”. You could become ninja then.
Construction Worker
You could also become Construction Worker in Penguin Chat 3. It was in the Snow Regions.
To be a Construction Worker you needed to click on the hook in the sky. When you are a Construction Worker you will have a hard hat and drill with it, and you will also have a snowcat, which was a kind of truck in Penguin Chat 3.

The Coffee Shop didn’t have the Book Room in it.
The Penguin Band played in the Night Club. Click the down right place to go to the Boiler Room. (The Boiler Room was a secret place).
The Boiler Room was very different from the Club Penguin Boiler Room.
The Soccer Field had a red goalie and the floor was white.
The Snow Area didn’t have much in it: just a place with trees and a sign. This place was supposed to be where there were Snowball Fights.
The igloo was different than the igloo in Experimental Penguins, because furniture was released.
Facts
- To throw a snowball you clicked on the snowball in the toolbar. Instead of choosing where to throw it you just clicked on it and it went.
- You can’t enter the Gift Shop, but when you clicked on it you can buy real stuff in Rocketsnail.com.
- Members didn’t exist in Penguin Chat 3.
- The moderators in Penguin Chat 3 were snails.
Club Penguin
Finally Club Penguin was released in October 2005! There was a Beta Test party, to celebrate!
The first pin was the Shamrock pin. The first puffle was the pink puffle. That’s all I can say!
